There were 4,762 inhabitants in 1,296 households at the following census of 2011. The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 4,527 in 1,422 households. The most populous of its 28 villages was Gavij, with 551 people. Other villages in the rural district include Afshord, Chay Kandi, Chubanlar-e Sardarlu, and Di Baglu.
