''Mauro Scocco'' is the self-titled debut studio album by Swedish pop music artist Mauro Scocco, as a solo artist. He had previously recorded albums with the group Ratata. Mauro Scocco
Mauro Scocco (born 11 September 1962) is a Swedish pop artist of Italian descent. He has been described as "one of the sharpest songwriters in Sweden". Scocco was the singer for the pop group Ratata (band), Ratata (1980–83) transformed into a duo with Ratata (band)#Johan Ekelund, Johan Ekelund (1983–89). After Ratata, Scocco has continued as a solo artist since. In 2014, he cooperated with Plura Jonsson releasing a joint album as ''Mauro & Plura''. Early life and career Scocco was born in Fristad in Borås. He grew up in Stockholm and in Borås. Scocco formed the pop group Ratata in 1980 along with a few classmates while he was still in Gymnasium (school), school. The first single was "För varje dag" (''"For each day"'') released on the debut album ''Ratata'' in 1981. Polar Studios
Polar Studios was a recording studio in Stockholm, Sweden, which operated from 1978 through 2004. The studio was formed by ABBA musicians Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson and the band's manager Stig Anderson, owner of the Polar Music recording label. The studio was used to record each of the last three ABBA albums, '' Voulez-Vous'', '' Super Trouper'' and '' The Visitors'', as well as their two non-LP singles " The Day Before You Came" and " Under Attack". Pop Rock
Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music. "Sarah" is a song written and recorded by Mauro Scocco for his 1988 album '' Mauro Scocco''. The song charted at Svensktoppen for 14 weeks between 7 October 1988-22 January 1989, topping the chart. The single was released in 1988, and topped the Swedish singles chart. "Sarah" also became the most popular Trackslistan song of 1988. In the TV program '' Pluras kök'', aired in April 2011, actress Elin Klinga told she was the inspiration for the song. On 20 May 2011, Mauro Scocco confirmed this for P3 Populär. Music video Parts of the music video were shot at the 7 Eleven store at the corner near Valhallavägen and Artillerigatan. Other parts were recorded at Jungfrugatan in Östermalm, where "Sarah" is seen in one of the French windows at Jungfrugatan 52. Ratata (band)
Ratata was a Swedish pop band formed in Stockholm in 1980. It functioned as a 4-piece band until 1983, when it was restructured. Johan Ekelund, having played with the band briefly, accepted an invitation and continued with Scocco as a duo until 1989. The duo had a brief comeback in 2002. History Scocco formed the pop group Ratata in 1980 along with a number of classmates while he was still in school: Heinz Liljedahl, Anders Skog and Johan Kling. The name was chosen since it alluded to machine gun fire, being Swedish for "rat-tat-tat". The first single was "För varje dag" (''"For each day"'') in 1981 was followed by a second single "Ögon av is". Both appeared on their self-titled 1982 debut album ''Ratata''. Soon followed ''Jackie'', their second album, including the title track single. When Kling left in 1982, bass player and keyboardist Johan Ekelund joined in.
