Mauricio Antonio Robles (born March 5, 1989), is a Venezuelans, Venezuelan former professional baseball pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies. He was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Detroit Tigers on April 1, 2006. Robles pitched for Venezuela at the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Robles had a basic fastball, curveball, changeup combination. He was described as having a good arm with a good fastball and developing secondary pitches. While Robles’ fastball was clocked as high as 97 mph, his changeup was perhaps his best pitch and was described as a plus offering by peers and Coach (baseball), coaches. Venezuelan Summer League
The Venezuelan Summer League (VSL) was a professional baseball sports league that operated in Venezuela from 1997 to 2015, primarily in the state of Carabobo. Teams in the league served as academies for Major League Baseball (MLB) organizations, and were classified at the Rookie League level within Minor League Baseball. History The VSL was created in 1997 as an alternative to the Dominican Summer League (DSL) to improve the development of young prospects from Venezuela in their early years in organized baseball. The High Desert Mavericks were an American Minor League Baseball team in Adelanto, California, that played their home games at Heritage Field at Stater Bros. Stadium. They played in the Class A-Advanced California League. The franchise had eight different major league affiliations over its 29 seasons. Jarrod Washburn
Jarrod Michael Washburn (born August 13, 1974) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Seattle Mariners, and Detroit Tigers over the course of a 12–year Major League Baseball (MLB) career. Career High school / college Jarrod Washburn graduated from Webster High School, in Webster, WI in 1992. Washburn attended the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, he redshirted his freshman year. In his freshman season, he won the championship game of the 1994 NCAA Division III World Series, against Wesleyan University (Connecticut). Washburn pitched eight strikeouts in a 6-2 complete game victory. That season he had a 6-1 record, a 2.03 earned run average (ERA) before being named to the NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region second team. The Midwest League is a Minor League Baseball league established in 1947 and based in the Midwestern United States. A Class A league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The West Michigan Whitecaps are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. In baseball statistics, earned run average (ERA) is the average of earned runs allowed by a pitcher per nine innings pitched (i.e. the traditional length of a game).
