Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Roberto Pochettino Trossero (born 2 March 1972), also known mononymously by his nickname Poch, is an Argentine professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of the United States men's national team. Pochettino played as a centre back and began his career in 1989 with Primera División club Newell's Old Boys, winning a league title and finishing as runner-up in the 1992 Copa Libertadores. In 1994, he transferred to newly promoted La Liga club Espanyol, helping establish their top-flight status and winning the 2000 Copa del Rey, their first trophy in 60 years. In 2001, he joined Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain, and then had a stint with Bordeaux before returning to Espanyol in 2004, winning another Copa del Rey in 2006. Maurizio Pochettino Grippaldi (born 30 March 2001) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Ibiza Islas Pitiusas. Early life Pochettino is the son of the Argentine football manager and former footballer, Mauricio Pochettino. He was born in Barcelona when his father was playing for Espanyol, and spent part of his childhood in France and England. Career Pochettino joined the academy of Southampton when his father was appointed their manager, and moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. Pochettino signed his first professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur in July 2019, joining up with their under-23 side. He signed a new contract with the club on 29 June 2020. The 1999 Copa América was a football tournament held in Paraguay, from 29 June to 18 July. It was organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body. In order to bring the number of competing teams to twelve, CONMEBOL invited CONCACAF's Mexico, accepting their fourth invitation, and AFC's Japan, who made their debut at the tournament.
