Maurice Raoul-Duval
Maurice Raoul-Duval (27 April 1866 – 5 May 1916) was a French polo player who competed in the 1900 Summer Olympics. Early life Raoul-Duval was born on 27 April 27, 1866 in Le Pecq. He was the son of Fernand Raoul-Duval (1833–1892), a mining engineer, and Henriette Dassier (1840–1923). Together with his brothers, Réné and Charles, were among the early pioneers of polo in France, and helped to found the Paris Polo Club in 1892. His paternal grandparents were Octavie Say (the daughter of the economist Jean-Baptiste Say) and Charles Raoul-Duval, a magistrate and senator, and his uncle was Edgar Raoul-Duval, the French magistrate and politician who was Representative of Seine-Inférieure. His maternal grandparents were Louise Labouchere and Auguste Dassier, founder of the Ador, Vernes & Dassier Bank in Paris. Le Pecq
Le Pecq () is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, from the center of Paris. Geography The commune of Le Pecq is located in a loop of the Seine river, west of Paris, at the foot of the chateau of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Le Pecq's territory is astride the two banks of the Seine and includes a small island, Corbière. It is highly urbanized except for Corbière island, which is partially protected as a nesting zone for migratory birds. Until after the Second World War, there were swimming baths on the island. The Château de Montgeoffroy () is an 18th-century manor house located in the commune of Mazé (Maine-et-Loire), France. History In 1676, Érasme de Contades acquired the property. In 1772, Marshal Louis Georges Érasme de Contades, governor of Alsace, decided to rebuild the château as a retirement home. He called on the Parisian architect Jean-Benoît-Vincent Barré, who worked with the local architect Simier. The marshal being far from Anjou, the work was directed primarily by his son, le marquis de Contades, his daughter-in-law, Julie Constantin de Marans, his mistress, Hélène Hérault, and her daughter-in-law, Marie-Marguerite Magon de La Lande. It took three years. The old château was burned down, but Barré appreciated its U shape and kept two towers and the moat, as well as the chapel, which dated from 1543. Michel d'Ornano (12 July 1924 – 8 March 1991) was a French politician. Early life Count d'Ornano was born in Paris on 12 July 1924. He was a son of Count Guillaume d'Ornano, a co-founder of Lancôme in 1935 (which was acquired by L'Oreal in 1964). His younger brother was Count Hubert d'Ornano.
