Maurice Boyse
Maurice Boyse (born 3 July 1955) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon, North Melbourne and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Before making it into the VFL, Boyse had played at local club Airport West and made his way through Essendon's Under-19s. He played nine times for Essendon in the 1975 VFL season and then had to wait almost two years for another senior game, this time at North Melbourne. In 1978 he averaged 17 disposals a game after coming into the side in round 11 and played all of the remaining 15 matches in the season. This included the 1978 VFL Grand Final, where he lined up on a half forward flank and kicked two goals. Boyse, who also played on the wing, appeared in three further finals in 1979. Early in the 1981 season, Boyse was traded to South Melbourne in a three-way deal which also included Central District. Peter Jonas (born 20 October 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Central Districts in the SANFL and North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. Jonas, a forward, was only 17 when he made his debut in the Central District seniors in 1977. He won his club's best and fairest in 1979 and represented South Australia in the Perth State of Origin Carnival that year. Michael Wright (Australian Footballer)
Michael Wright (born 6 October 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Wright was a versatile key-position player, recruited from Oakleigh Districts, the same club his brother Stephen started out at. Their father Jack holds the most games played record with the Box Hill Football Club. He first played in the 1978 VFL season. In his second game, against Fitzroy at Junction Oval, he kicked five behinds but only one goal. Despite starting as a forward, he was often as a full-back by South Melbourne and he had his most productive season in 1979 with 17 appearances. He played some good football from centre half-forward in 1980 and in a win over Footscray took nine marks and had 21 disposals. The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. Promotion and relegation between these divisions occurs, with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 being relegated at the end of each season. Clubs which win the Division 1 and Division 2 premierships are automatically promoted. 1975 VFL Season
The 1975 VFL season was the 79th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured twelve clubs, ran from 5 April until 27 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top five clubs. The premiership was won by the North Melbourne Football Club, after it defeated by 55 points in the VFL Grand Final. It was North Melbourne's first premiership, making it the last of the league's twelve clubs to win a premiership.
