Maureen Nankya
Maureen Nankya is a Ugandan actress who featured in Mariam Ndagire's maiden film ''Down This Road I Walk (2007)'' plus sitcom ''Tendo Sisters'' which was run on NTV Uganda, Bukedde TV and Maisha Magic. She is also a model, singer, TV presenter, fitness instructor and personal trainer at her startup called Mona Fitness. History Born on 17 September 1988, Maureen studied at Gombe SSS and Kingstone High School Kawempe in Kampala. She played the role of Kanini, a mason's wife cheating on her husband with his boss in a Maisha Film Lab project entitled ''The Casual'' (2008 short film) written and directed by Kenyan Mark Mutahi. She later appeared on a Warid billboard in the early 2010s. In 2019, she appeared as a gym instructor in a TV commercial for MTN alongside Uganda's Mr. Google. Mariam Ndagire
Mariam Ndagire (born 16 May 1971), is a Ugandan singer, entertainer, actress, playwright, film director, and film producer. Beginnings and education She was born in Kampala, Uganda's capital city, to Sarah Nabbutto and Buganda's Prince Kizito Ssegamwenge. She attended ''Buganda Road Primary School'', before transferring to ''Kampala High School'', where she completed her O-level education. For her A-Level studies, she attended Trinity College Nabbingo, in Wakiso District, where she graduated with a High School Diploma. She went on to obtain a Higher Diploma in Marketing from Makerere University Business School in Nakawa. Maisha Film Lab is a Uganda-based non-profit training film initiative for emerging East African filmmakers and mentor ship programme for aspiring filmmakers and youth in Eastern Africa. Nana Hill Kagga Macpherson (also known as Nana Kagga-Hill or as Nana Hill or Nana Hill Kagga) is a Ugandan actress, filmmaker, content creator, scriptwriter, petroleum engineer and motivational speaker. Matt Bish (born 15 May 1975), also known as Matthew Bishanga, is a Ugandan filmmaker and the Creative Director at Bish Films. He directed the first Ugawood feature film, '' Battle of the Souls'', in 2007. Personal life and education The first of four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bishanga, Bish obtained his early education in Uganda. There, as a boy, he grew to love film, attending the cinema but also being exposed to many movies at home with his family on his father's home video system. The Mercy Of The Jungle
''The Mercy of the Jungle'' (French: ''La Miséricorde de la Jungle'') is a 2018 internationally co-produced film from Rwandan director Joël Karekezi. It tells the story of two Rwandan soldiers separated from their military unit at the beginning of the Second Congo War and their struggle to survive in a hostile jungle environment amidst intense armed conflict. The film's festival debut was at the Toronto International Film Festival on 8 September 2018 and marks the second feature from Joël Karakezi. The film was selected among TIFF's Discovery series lineup; Stéphane Bak, one of the two leads, was selected as one of eight rising stars at the festival. Uganda Broadcasting Corporation
Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) is the public broadcaster network of Uganda. It was founded as a result of the "Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act, 2004", which merged the operations of Uganda Television (UTV) and Radio Uganda. It started broadcasting on November 16, 2005. The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Act stated that the UBC should be funded by the levying of a television licence fee. Collection of a licence fee set at USh (around €8.40 or US$10.80) started in 2005. However, collection was subsequently halted by President Yoweri Museveni. There has since been pressure to reinstate the licence fee to maintain UBC's independence. UBC operates the UBC TV channel and five radio stations.
