Maureen Cummins (born 1963) is an American artist specializing in artists' books.Copans, Ruth and Anzalone, John (2012). Pyramid Atlantic Art Center (PAAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit contemporary arts center specializing in papermaking, printmaking, and book arts. They are currently located at 4318 Gallatin Street in Hyattsville, Maryland. History The PAAC was founded in 1981 by artist Helen C. Frederick, and is located in Hyattsville, Maryland. It had previously been located in Baltimore in the 1980s and later Silver Spring from 2003 until 2017. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, a borough of New York City, on Saturday, March 25, 1911, was the deadliest List of industrial disasters, industrial disaster in the history of the city, and one of the deadliest in U.S. history. The fire caused the deaths of 146 garment workers—123 women and girls and 23 men—who died from the fire, smoke inhalation, falling, or jumping to their deaths. Salem Witch Trials
The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in Province of Massachusetts Bay, colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. More than 200 people were accused. Not everyone who was accused during that time had a known residency; around 151 people, nearly half that were accused, were able to be traced back to twenty-five different New England communities. Thirty people were found guilty, nineteen of whom were executed by hanging (fourteen women and five men). High Falls, New York
High Falls is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 700 at the 2020 census. Portions of High Falls are located in the towns of Marbletown and Rosendale. History The High Falls Historic District and Lock Tender's House and Canal Store Ruin are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. High Falls takes its name from the nearby feature on Rondout Creek, where the creek cuts through a large rock formation and goes over a large waterfall. It was an attractive source of water power, and millers were drawn to it from colonial times.
