Ignacy Matuszewski
Ignacy Hugo Stanisław Matuszewski ( – 3 August 1946) was a Polish politician, publicist, diplomat, Minister of Finance of the Second Polish Republic, colonel, infantry officer and intelligence agent of the Polish Army, member of the International Olympic Committee. A strong supporter of Józef Piłsudski, he was counted among the " Colonels" and co-founded the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America. Background He was born on 10 September 1891, in Warsaw, a son of Ignacy Matuszewski Sr., a well-known literary critic. He was also the godson of writer, Bolesław Prus. Ignacy Matuszewski studied philosophy at the Jagiellonian University, architecture in Milan, law in Tartu, and agriculture in Warsaw. Bolesław Matuszewski (August 19, 1856 Pińczów, – c.1943 or 1944; in French texts Boleslas Matuszewski) - Polish businessman, photographer and cameraman, pioneer of cinematography and documentary film. Biography He was born in 1856 in Pińczów, the small Congress Poland city, which after partitions of Poland became part of the Russian Empire. His father Aleksander was translator of French language and his mother was Stanisława Pochowska. Bolesław Matuszewski had also two sisters and a younger brother Zygmunt. Krzysztof Matuszewski (born in 1953) was a Polish footballer who played as a forward. Matuszewski supposedly joined Lechia Gdańsk from Olimpia Elbląg in 1974. He made his Lechia debut on 18 August 1974 playing in a 3–0 win over Bałtyk Gdynia.
