Matty Peet
Matthew Peet (born 15 April 1984) is an English professional rugby league coach who is the head coach of the Wigan Warriors in the Super League. Background Peet was born in Wigan and played amateur rugby league for many years around the area. After failing to secure a professional contract, he switched direction and studied English at Manchester Metropolitan University. Upon graduation and completion of his degree in 2005, he returned to rugby league focusing on coaching. Career Peet began coaching at amateur level with the senior sides of both Westhoughton Lions and Wigan St Patricks, before joining Wigan in 2008 as a part time Scholarship coach. Peet went on to hold a number of roles within the club's youth ranks before being appointed to his first full-time position as the club's youth performance coach. Wigan ( ) is a town in Greater Manchester, England. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west. 2023 Super League Grand Final
The 2023 Super League Grand Final, was the 26th official grand final, and championship-deciding rugby league game of Super League XXVIII. The match was contested between Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons, at Old Trafford. St Helens were the defending champions, having won 4 consecutive titles in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, but they were eliminated in the Semi-final, losing 6–12 to Catalans Dragons in a repeat of the 2021 Final, which St Helens won 12–10. Super League XXIV
Super League XXIV, known as the Betfred Super League XXIV for sponsorship reasons, was the 2019 iteration of and the 24th season of the Super League and 125th season of rugby league in Great Britain. Twelve teams competed over 29 rounds, including the Magic Weekend, which took place at Anfield. After the regular rounds, the top five highest teams entered the Super League play-offs, for a place in the Super League Grand Final. London Broncos were immediately relegated to the Championship after only being promoted last year, but a bad season saw them win just 10 games out of 29. They will be replaced by Toronto Wolfpack.
