Bain Mattox is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, based out of Athens, Georgia. Having self-released albums in the past with a backing band simply under the name 'Bain Mattox', his band now goes by name Bain Mattox and Shot From Guns. A self-managed recording artist, Bain Mattox has released four albums since 2002 through SWIM Recordings and athensmusic.net. His music merges the genres of folk and rock, often accenting traditional rock music with instruments such as a mandolin and accordion. The first studio album, Technicolor Episode was recorded and released in 2002 with the help of Don McCollister, a producer who has worked with Sister Hazel, Shawn Mullins, and Indigo Girls. After touring to promote this album, a self-titled album was recorded and released under SWIM Recordings. Kenneth Mattox (born July 14, 1938) MD, FACS is an American surgeon and author. Education Mattox graduated from Wayland Baptist University in 1960. He then matriculated to Baylor College of Medicine, graduating in 1964. Career He is Professor and Vice Chairman of Surgery in the General Surgery Division of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. In addition, he is Chief of the Surgery Service and Chief of Staff at Ben Taub General Hospital. He is a veteran and served for one year in Alabama. He now specializes in thoracic surgery and trauma surgery. He has been named among the Best Surgeons in America five times. Martha Mattox (born Eleanor Perry Mellen; June 19, 1879 – May 2, 1933) was an American silent film actress most notable for her portrayal of Mammy Pleasant in the 1927 film '' The Cat and the Canary''. She also played a role in ''Torrent'' (1926). She died from a heart ailment at age 53. Matt Mattox (August 16, 1921 – February 18, 2013) was an American jazz and ballet dancer. He was a Broadway performer and a specialty dancer in many Hollywood musicals. His best-known film role was as Caleb Pontipee in the 1954 film ''Seven Brides for Seven Brothers''. After his Broadway and film career, Mattox moved to Europe, where he became a well-respected dance teacher. Biography Mattox was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and became a protégé of the legendary jazz dance pioneer Jack Cole, with whom he worked on Broadway in '' Magdalena: a Musical Adventure'' (1948). Ray Mattox
Ray Mattox (March 10, 1927 – December 29, 2005) was an American politician. He served as a Democratic member for the 49th, 56th and 57th district of the Florida House of Representatives. Mattox was born in Jesup, Georgia. He attended Florida Southern College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business economics in 1951, and the University of Florida where he earned a law degree in 1954. He practiced law in Winter Haven, Florida for 51 years. Mattox served in the United States Navy during World War II. He also served as a second lieutenant during the Korean War. In 1957, Mattox was elected to the Florida House of Representatives, serving until 1976. He represented the 56th district from 1967 to 1968, the 57th district from 1968 to 1972, and the 49th district from 1972 to 1976.
