Matthew Stokes (cricketer)
Matthew Stokes (born 7 October 1995) is a cricketer who plays for Guernsey. He played in the 2014 ICC World Cricket League Division Five tournament. In May 2015 he participated in the 2015 ICC Europe Division One tournament. On 8 September 2015 in the 2015 ICC World Cricket League Division Six, Stokes scored an unbeaten 135 against Botswana. He played in the 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five tournament, becoming the second highest run scorer in the competition with 247 runs from 6 matches. In September 2018, he was the leading run-scorer for Guernsey in Group C of the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Europe Qualifier tournament, with 132 runs in five matches. In May 2019, he was named in Guernsey's squad for the 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Guernsey against Jersey on 31 May 2019. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup
Guernsey cricket team hosted Jersey cricket team from 31 May to 1 June 2019 to contest the 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup, consisted of three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The series took place at two grounds in Guernsey: College Field in Saint Peter Port and King George V Sports Ground in Castel. The two sides had played an Inter-Insular match annually since 1950, generally as 50-over contests. A Twenty20 series was played for the first time in 2018, with Jersey winning the inaugural series 3–0. Following the International Cricket Council's decision to grant T20I status to all matches played between Associate Members after 1 January 2019, this edition was the first to have this enhanced status. The 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five was an international cricket tournament that took place in Jersey during May 2016. It formed part of the 2012–18 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL). The Jersey Cricket Board were awarded the hosting rights in October 2015, with the Nigeria Cricket Federation the only other bidder. The competition's final was played at the Grainville Cricket Ground in Saint Saviour, with Jersey defeating Oman by 44 runs. Both teams were promoted to the 2016 Division Four tournament. All-rounder
An all-rounder is a cricketer who regularly performs well at both batting and bowling. Although all bowlers must bat and quite a handful of batsmen do bowl occasionally, most players are skilled in only one of the two disciplines and are considered specialists. Some wicket-keepers have the skills of a specialist batter and have been referred to as all-rounders, but the term '' wicket-keeper-batter'' is more commonly applied to them, even if they are substitute wicket keepers who also bowl.
