Matthew Seiyefa
Matthew Seiyefa MNI (born 17 October 1960) was the acting Director General of the Nigerian State Security Service from 7 August 2018 till September 2018; he was appointed by Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Background and education He was born in October 1960 in Ekeremor in Bayelsa State, southern Nigeria. He received a bachelor's degree from University of Jos in 1982 and also trained at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Nigeria. In 1984, Seiyefa joined the National Security Organization (NSO) which was later replaced in 1985 with the State Security Service (SSS). State Security Service (Nigeria)
The State Security Service (SSS), self-styled as the Department of State Services (DSS), is a security agency of Nigeria and one of three successor organisations to the National Security Organization (NSO). The agency is under the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and it reports its activities to the office of the NSA. Its main responsibilities are within the country and include counter-intelligence, internal security, counter-terrorism, and surveillance as well as investigating some other types of serious crimes against the state. It is also charged with the protection of senior government officials, particularly the President, Vice President, state governors and visiting heads of states and governments with their respective families. It is headquartered in Abuja. National Security Organization
The National Security Organization (NSO) of Nigeria, or Nigerian Security Organization, was created under Decree number 27 of 1976 by the military regime of Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, after the failed Dimka coup which claimed the life of former Head of State Gen. Murtala Mohammed. The NSO was given a mandate of co-ordinating Internal Security, Foreign Intelligence and counterintelligence activities. It was charged with the detection and prevention of any crime against the security of the state, with the protection of classified materials, and with carrying out any other security missions assigned by the president. The University of Jos, abbreviated as Unijos, is a Federal University in Jos, Plateau State, central Nigeria.
