Matthew Golding (born 30 December 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Adelaide in the Australian Football League The Australian Football League (AFL) is the pre-eminent professional sports, professional competition of Australian rules football. He started his career at the Reynella Football Club and then went on to playing footy for Glenelg and then the Adelaide Crows, After leaving the AFL, Golding continued his career at his original club Glenelg and played 96 games for them, before crossing to Edwardstown in 2005. He remained with Edwardstown until 2010, when he joined Noarlunga. The Glenelg Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers or the Bays, is an Australian rules football team which plays in the South Australian National Football League. Their home ground is Stratarama Stadium (formerly Glenelg Oval), located in the southern coastal suburb of Glenelg East, South Australia. Club history The inaugural meeting of the Glenelg Football Club was held at the Glenelg Town Hall on Wednesday 10 March 1920, to form a club for players west of South Road to play in the B Grade. It was decided that the club colors would be red, yellow and black with white knickers. The Edwardstown Football Club is an Australian rules football club first formed in 1919. In 1938, Edwardstown merged with the Black Forest Football Club from the Adelaide and Suburban Football Association but retained the name Edwardstown. The Noarlunga Football Club is an Australian rules football club that plays in the Southern Football League. History There are some records of a Noarlunga Football Club being first formed in the 1890s. The first record of Noarlunga participating in an organised competition was with the establishment of the Alexandra Football Association in 1913, with Noarlunga finishing runners-up to Clarendon that season. The following season Noarlunga went one better, winning the Alexandra FA Premiership. Noarlunga transferred to the Southern Football Association in 1915, but this move lasted only one season due to the competition disbanding the following year due to the First World War.
