Matthew Bellamy
Matthew James Bellamy (born 9 June 1978) is an English singer, songwriter and producer. He is the lead vocalist, guitarist, pianist, and lyricist for the English rock band Muse (band), Muse. He is recognised for his eccentric stage persona, wide tenor vocal range and musicianship. Bellamy was born in Cambridge. His family moved to Teignmouth, Devon, where he formed Muse with schoolmates. They released their debut album, ''Showbiz (Muse album), Showbiz'', in 1999. With Muse, Bellamy has won two Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, for ''The Resistance (album), The Resistance'' (2009) and ''Drones (Muse album), Drones'' (2015); two Brit Awards for Best British Live Act; five MTV Europe Music Awards; and eight NME Awards. "Telstar" is a 1962 instrumental by the English band the Tornados, written and produced by Joe Meek. It reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in December 1962 (the second British recording to reach number one on that chart in the year, after " Stranger on the Shore" in May). It was the second instrumental single to hit number one in 1962 on both the US and UK weekly charts." Stranger on the Shore" did make number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, the ''Record Mirror'' and ''NME'' weekly charts and also topped the end of year charts. Later in 1962, Meek produced a vocal version, "Magic Star", sung by Kenny Hollywood. The Tornados
The Tornados were an English instrumental rock group of the 1960s that acted as backing group for many of record producer Joe Meek's productions and also for singer Billy Fury. They enjoyed several chart hits in their own right, including the UK and US no. 1 "Telstar" (named after the satellite and composed and produced by Meek), the first US no. 1 single by a British group.
