Kurt Matthaei
Franz Georg Kurt Matthaei (4 February 1886 – 19 March 1974) was a German lawyer, a Nazi Party politician and a supporter of several neo-Nazi political parties in post-war Germany. Early life Kurt Matthaei was born in Nienburg, the son of the '' Oberbürgermeister'' of Hamm. He attended the Hamm '' Gymnasium'' and obtained his ''Abitur'' in 1907. He then studied law and political science at the University of Göttingen and the University of Münster. He passed the first state law examination in July 1911 and began his training as a '' Referendar'' (lawyer trainee) at the district court in Warendorf. He fulfilled his military service obligation as a one-year volunteer with the 13th (1st Westphalian) Infantry Regiment, headquartered Münster between 1911 and 1912. At the outbreak of the First World War, he reentered the Imperial German Army as an officer candidate and fought on the western front. Dieter Matthaei
Dieter Matthaei (born 1 February 1949 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Germany) is a German radiotherapist and internist. Matthaei studied physics and medicine at the universities of Berlin and Göttingen. In 1977, he received his doctorate from the University of Göttingen. He was from 1983 to 1987 a research associate at the Max-Planck-Institut für biophysikalische Chemie in Göttingen and is now medical specialist for internal medicine in Göttingen. Matthaei worked at the University of Göttingen and at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear magnetic resonance in biological systems. Gabrielle Matthaei
Gabrielle Louise Caroline Howard (née Matthaei; 3 October 1876 – 18 August 1930), usually cited as G. L. C. Matthaei, was an English plant physiologist and economic botanist who advocated organic farming. Education and photosynthesis experiments Matthaei was born in Kensington in a family of German, Swiss and French ancestry. She was the daughter of the musician Louise Henriette Elizabeth Sueur and the commission merchant Carl Hermann Ernst Matthaei, she had a brother and three younger sisters, including Louise Howard. Matthaei attended North London Collegiate School for Girls and Newnham College, Cambridge, and later worked as assistant to Frederick Blackman, producing significant work on cellular respiration. Heinrich August Matthaei
Heinrich August Matthaei (3 October 1781 – 4 November 1835) was a German violinist and composer. He was for many years concertmaster of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Life Matthaei was born in Dresden in 1781. Little is known of his early life; it is thought he was largely self-taught as a violinist. In 1803 he arrived in Leipzig, and was appointed as a soloist of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, of which the concertmaster was Bartolomeo Campagnoli. Through patrons and friends he had the opportunity to study in Paris, where from 1804 he was a student of Rodolphe Kreutzer. In 1806 he reappeared in public in Leipzig, and became important there in musical activities. With other members of the Gewandhaus Orchestra – Campagnoli, Johann Georg Hermann Voigt and Friedrich Dotzauer – he founded in 1808 a string quartet, the Gewandhaus Quartet. Christian Frederick Matthaei (4 March 1744 – 26 September 1811) was a German palaeographer, classical philologist, and professor at the universities of Wittenberg and Moscow. Life Matthaei was born in 1744 in the Saxon village of Gröst, west of Leipzig. After studying theology, philosophy, and classical philology in Leipzig with Johann Jakob Reiske and Johann August Ernesti, he left for Moscow in 1772, where he spent twelve years as a high school teacher and then as a professor of classical philology at Moscow University. He returned to Germany in 1784, and in 1789 he took a position as professor of Greek at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, where he was appointed rector three years later.
