Matterhorn Bobsleds
Matterhorn Bobsleds is an attraction that consists of a pair of intertwined steel roller coasters running through a fabricated mountain. It is located at Disneyland in Anaheim, California and is modeled after the Matterhorn, a mountain in the Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. It is the first known tubular steel track roller coaster. Located on the border between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, it employs forced perspective to seem larger. History 1956–1970 During the construction of the park, dirt from the excavation of Sleeping Beauty Castle's moat was piled in an area between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. A moat is a deep, broad ditch dug around a castle, fortification, building, or town, historically to provide it with a preliminary line of defence. Moats can be dry or filled with water. Bob Gurr
Robert Henry Gurr (born October 25, 1931) is an American amusement ride designer and Imagineer. His most famous work was for Walt Disney's Disneyland Park, and its subsequent sister parks. Gurr is said to have designed most, if not all, of the ride vehicles of Disneyland's oldest attractions, including Autopia, Main Street Vehicles, the Disneyland Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Submarine Voyage, and the Haunted Mansion. He was named a Disney Legend in 2004. He also worked on the King Kong Encounter animatronic for Universal Studios Hollywood. Early life Gurr was born in Los Angeles in 1931 and raised in the community of Glendale, California. The Disney Gallery
The Disney Gallery is a walk-through exhibit attraction at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, United States. It is an art gallery that was originally established to showcase artwork from Walt Disney Imagineering, but has occasionally presented art from other parts of The Walt Disney Company. Exhibits rotate in and out to coincide with park/attraction anniversaries as well as company-wide promotions. The Gallery is currently located inside the Disneyland Opera House, the lobby of The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, where it has been since the summer of 2013. Bobsleigh
Bobsleigh or bobsled is a winter sport in which teams of 2 to 4 athletes make timed speed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sleigh. International bobsleigh competitions are governed by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (formerly the FIBT). The first bobsleds were built in the late 19th century in St. Moritz, Switzerland, by wealthy tourists from Victorian Britain who were staying at the Badrutt's Palace Hotel, Palace Hotel owned by Caspar Badrutt. Matterhorn Skyway Straight On

Joe Fowler
Joe Fowler (July 9, 1894 – December 6, 1993) was a rear admiral of the United States Navy, who after his retirement had an important role in overseeing the construction of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Joe Fowler attended the United States Naval Academy and later earned a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Naval Architecture.
