Mattea Meyer
Mattea Julia Meyer (; born 9 November 1987) is a Swiss politician who currently serves as member of the National Council for the Social Democratic Party since 2015. Concurrently she co-chairs the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland together with Cédric Wermuth. Previously, Meyer served on the Cantonal Council of Zürich from 2011 to 2015. Early life and education Meyer was born 9 November 1987 in Basel, Switzerland to an agricultural engineer father and a kindergarten teacher mother. She was raised, together with her sister and brother, in Rothenfluh and Winterthur. She studied history, geography and political science at the University of Zurich between 2007 and 2015. She obtained a MSc in Human and Economic Geography from the University of Zurich in 2015. The National Council (; ; ; ) is a house of the Federal Assembly (Switzerland), Federal Assembly of Switzerland, representing the people. The other house, Council of States (Switzerland), Council of States, represents the states, preventing more populous parts of the country overpowering the rest. Christian Levrat (born 7 July 1970) is a Swiss politician. He served as the President of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland from 2008 until 2020. He has served as a member of the Council of States from Fribourg since 2012. Prior to the Council of states, He was a member of the National Council in from 2003 to 2012. He became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Post in 2021. Levrat was born in La Tour-de-Trême, now part of Bulle in the Canton of Fribourg. He earned a bilingual law degree from University of Fribourg and a master's degree at the University of Leicester. He has citizenship in Pont ( Veveyse), Le Crêt, Esmonts et Siviriez.
