Matt Pryor (Michigan Politician)
Matthew "Matt" Pryor (March 17, 1960 - June 25, 2023) was an American Republican Party politician. He was the mayor of the city of Troy in the U.S. state of Michigan from 2001 to 2004. Biography Pryor grew up in Troy, graduating from Troy High School in 1978. In 1982 he received his B.S. in psychology from the University of Michigan. Upon graduation from college, Pryor began operating a landscape and construction company in Troy and the surrounding area. Pryor married Patti Turri on August 13, 2011. Pryor also has been a noted co-host on Deepertruth Radio with Donald Hartley, known as the "Catholic Defender". Pryor died on June 25, 2023. Troy, Michigan
Troy is a city in Oakland County, Michigan, United States. Its population was 87,294 at the 2020 U.S. census, making Troy the most populous city in the county and the 13th most-populous municipality in the state. Troy is a northern suburb of Metro Detroit, located about sixteen miles (25.7 km) northwest of downtown Detroit. Troy was organized as a township in 1827, and sections of the township incorporated much later into the cities of Birmingham, Clawson, and Royal Oak. The remainder of the township incorporated as the present-day city of Troy in 1955. Troy High School (THS) is a public high school in Troy, Michigan, United States. It enrolls approximately 2,000 students in grades 9–12. It is one of four high schools in the Troy School District, along with Athens High School, Troy College and Career School, and International Academy East. Clawson, Michigan
Clawson is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. At the 2010 census, its population was 11,825. History This area was occupied by the historic Potowatomi people, who were among the indigenous peoples in the Detroit territory. They traded furs for goods for years with the French Canadians and English colonists. The city's name is a misspelling of the surname of John Lawson, an early European-American settler. It was founded by European Americans in 1829 and was originally known as Pumachug and The Corners. Timothy J. Burns (born 1973) is a former Democratic Oakland County Commissioner for the 19th District, which covers parts of Clawson and Troy. Biography Burns is a graduate of Bradley University and the University of Detroit Law School.
