Matt Marshall (golfer)
Matt Marshall (born March 22, 1985) is an American professional golfer from Carlton, Oregon. He made the cut at the 2016 U.S. Open. He qualified for the Open by way of a playoff in sectional qualifying. This was his first U.S. Open. Prior to his U.S. Open qualification, he played seven years on PGA Tour Canada where his best finish was second place at the 2012 ATB Financial Classic. A professional golfer is somebody who receives payments or financial rewards in the sport of golf that are directly related to their skill or reputation. A person who earns money by teaching or playing golf is traditionally considered a "golf pro," most of whom are teachers/coaches. Carlton is a city in Yamhill County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,135 as of the 2020 Census. History The origin of Carlton's name is disputed. An ex-county commissioner claims that the name was derived from Wilson Carl, whereas A. E. The ATB Financial Classic is a golf tournament on PGA Tour Canada. It was first played in 2007, and was merged with the Edmonton Open in 2010.
