Matt Lockett
Matt Lockett (born June 8, 1974) is an American politician and Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from Kentucky's 39th House district since January 2021. His district comprises parts of Fayette and Jessamine counties. Background Lockett earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Murray State University, and later earned a Master of Arts from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently employed as a financial adviser at Family Wealth Group. Previously, he served as director of the Kentucky Department of Insurance's Health and Life division as well as the Property and Casualty division. and worked as a financial services professional. Lockett is also a former chair of the Jessamine County Republican Party as well as a volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association and member of the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce. Robert Damron (politician)
Robert Damron (born June 20, 1954) is an American investment banker and politician from the state of Kentucky. Affiliated with the Democratic Party, Damron was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1993 until 2015, representing the 39th district. He served as the Democratic caucus chair for 4 years. He announced that he would not seek re-election to the state House in 2014, and would instead run for Jessamine County Judge-Executive, as incumbent William Neal Cassity did not running for re-election. However, Damron would lose this election to Republican David West. Shortly afterwards, he switched parties and became a Republican, saying the national Democratic Party did not represent his values.
