Matt Geyer
Matt Geyer (born 5 September 1975) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. A New South Wales State of Origin representative , he played his club football primarily with the Melbourne Storm of the National Rugby League competition, winning the 1999 premiership with them. He also represented City Origin and played for the Western Reds. Background Geyer is also the younger brother of rugby league personality Mark Geyer. Matt Geyer is also Cole Geyer’s Father. He is uncle to Penrith Panthers second rower Mav Geyer. Playing career Geyer started his career in 1997 for the Western Reds in the Super League competition where his older brother Mark was captain. Upon the club's dissolution at the end of 1997 he became one of the foundation members of the Melbourne Storm when they started their first season in 1998. Blacktown is a suburb in New South Wales, Australia, west of the Sydney central business district. It is one of the most multicultural places within Sydney, Greater Sydney. 1999 NRL Grand Final
The 1999 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 1999 NRL season. It was contested by the competition's two newest clubs: the Melbourne Storm, competing in only its second year (having finished the regular season in 3rd place); and the St. George Illawarra Dragons, in their first year as a joint-venture club (having finished the regular season in 6th place), after both sides eliminated the rest of the top eight during the finals. A new rugby league world record crowd of 107,999 was at Stadium Australia for the game. 1997 Super League (Australia) Season
The 1997 Super League season (also known as the Telstra Cup due to sponsorship by Telstra Corporation) was a breakaway professional rugby league football competition in Australia and the only one to be run by the News Limited-controlled Super League organisation. Eight teams which had broken away from the existing Australian Rugby League, in addition to the newly created Adelaide Rams and Hunter Mariners, competed over eighteen weekly rounds of the regular season. As of the end of 2023, there have been 26 NRL Premierships and 116 including the lesser, state premierships, (NSWRL and ARL). This is a list of all the grand finals that were played to decide those premierships. Between 1912 and 1925, and again in 1937, the NSW premiership was decided on a first-past-the-post basis, with a final only played if two teams finished with an equal amount of competition points. This happened in 1916, 1922, 1923 and 1924. From 1926 until 1953, the second amended Argus System was used, whereby the minor premiers had the right to challenge the winner of the final to a grand final to decide the premiership. From 1954, the grand final became the only way to determine the premiership. Marymount College, Gold Coast
Marymount College is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary school located at Burleigh Waters on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. It was established in 1968 by Frank Shine. Marymount College is the largest Catholic High School (7–12 only) and the furtherest south non-Government high school on the Queensland coastline. History Marymount College opened in 1968 as a parish secondary school for girls operated by the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, with sixteen students and two staff. The 2008 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding game of the 2008 NRL season. It was played between the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the Melbourne Storm on Sunday, 5 October at ANZ Stadium in Sydney. William Chambers (born 26 May 1988 in Brisbane) is an Australian retired rugby league and rugby union, union footballer who last played for the LA Giltinis in Major League Rugby (MLR) in the United States. The 2006 NRL Grand Final was the conclusive and premiership-deciding match of the NRL's 2006 Telstra Premiership season. It was played between the first-placed Melbourne Storm and the third-placed Brisbane Broncos clubs on the night of Sunday, 1 October. The 2006 grand final was the first ever to feature teams which were both from cities outside the borders of New South Wales, in this case the capitals of Queensland and Victoria, yet was played at the traditional venue of Sydney's Telstra Stadium.
