Matt Garstka
Matthew Wolfgang Garstka (born April 27, 1989) is an American drummer, best known for his work with instrumental progressive metal band Animals as Leaders. Biography Garstka, son of professional guitar player Greg Garstka, was born in Hopewell, Virginia, and raised in Westfield, Massachusetts. He started playing drums at the age of 8. At the age of 12 he started gigging with his father, playing rock, blues and reggae music. At 14 Garstka met Jo Sallins, who introduced him to fusion, funk, Latin and jazz drumming. At the age of 14 Matt appeared in Sallins DVD ''Mr. Cool''. In 2006 he released an EP with punk band Backstab and in 2007 released his first solo album ''Heavy Volume'', featuring Joel Stroetzel from Killswitch Engage, Chis Regan from FNB and Jo Sallins. NAMM Show
The NAMM Show is an annual event in the United States that is organized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), who describe it as "the industry’s largest stage, uniting the global music, sound and entertainment technology communities". Overview The NAMM Show takes place annually in Anaheim, California, at the Anaheim Convention Center, and is one of the largest music product trade shows in the world. Its European counterpart is the '' Musikmesse'' in Frankfurt. Joel Stroetzel
Joel Michael Stroetzel (born July 24, 1980) is best known as the rhythm guitarist from the Massachusetts metalcore band Killswitch Engage. Background Stroetzel attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston but did not graduate. Stroetzel's guitar style is influenced by the bands Slayer, Anthrax, Zakk Wylde, as stated on the World Ablaze DVD. Career While at college, Stroetzel began playing in the band Aftershock. The band broke up in 1999, when Joel formed Killswitch Engage with co-guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz. Joel plays the guitar solo in the track "Holy Diver" and is seen occasionally singing during live renditions of "The End of Heartache". Stroetzel has also performed with the band Times of Grace as a touring musician. ''The Joy of Motion'' is the third studio album by American instrumental progressive metal band Animals as Leaders. It was released on March 24, 2014, in Europe, March 25, 2014, in North America and on March 28, 2014, in Australia and New Zealand by Sumerian Records. The entire album was previously made available on YouTube on March 19, 2014. Around 13,000 copies of ''The Joy of Motion'' were bought in the United States during the first week of its release. It debuted at No. 23 on the ''Billboard'' 200, the band's highest position on the chart. It has sold 50,000 copies in the United States as of November 2016.
