Matt Ford (writer)
Matt Ford, former stage name Pinky Beecroft, is an Australian screenwriter, singer-songwriter, and performer. From 1997 to 2005 he was the lead singer and keyboardist for alternative rockers Machine Gun Fellatio. His group Pinky Beecroft and the White Russians released an album, ''Somethin' Somewhere Better'', in August 2008. As a songwriter he co-wrote "No Aphrodisiac" with bandmate Chit Chat Von Loopin Stab and The Whitlams' Tim Freedman. He has written scripts for a number of television series, most recently '' Underbelly: Vanishing Act'' (2022) and ''Warnie'' (2023), and has also worked as a producer. ''Sweat'' is an Australian drama television series created by John Rapsey and produced by Barron Entertainment in association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Perth. The show aired on Network Ten in 1996 for one season of 26 episodes and centred on students at an Australian school for the athletically gifted. Charles Firth (comedian)
Charles Henry Danger Burgmann Firth (born 21 September 1975) is an Australian comedian, best known as a founding member of The Chaser. Early life He is the brother of Verity Firth, who was a Minister for the Labor Government of New South Wales. Firth attended Sydney Grammar School, where along with Chaser colleagues Dominic Knight and Chas Licciardello he ran the satirical school magazine ''The Tiger''. University years Firth went on to attend the University of Sydney where he completed an Arts degree in political science, edited the ''Honi Soit'' student newspaper, and in 1997 broke through a plate glass window during a University Senate meeting to protest the introduction of full fee paying places at the university. The Chaser
The Chaser are an Australian satirical comedy group, best known for their television programmes and satirical news masthead. The group take their name from their satirical newspaper, a publication known to challenge conventions of taste. The group's motto is "Striving for Mediocrity in a World of Excellence". Founding The Chaser's earliest foundation was a satirical school paper called ''The Tiger'', created by future members Charles Firth, Dominic Knight and Chas Licciardello as a way to "wring as much money as heycould out of their expensive private school" while attending Sydney Grammar. WPA World Nine-ball Championship
The WPA World Nine-ball Championship is an annual professional nine-ball pool tournament contested since 1990. The championship is sanctioned by the World Pool Association (WPA) and principally sponsored and organized by Matchroom Sport, who promote he event as the World Pool Championship. The championship is divided into men's, women's and wheelchair divisions. History In the summer of 1989, the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) began plans for a world championship tournament. The group sent invitations, rules, sports regulations and by-laws. Reception was positive, and a provisional Board was created.
