Matt Dunford
Matt Dunford (born 4 March 1968) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s. Dunford played for Manly-Warringah in the NSWRL, and the ARL and London Broncos in the Super League. Playing career Dunford made his first grade debut for Manly-Warringah in round 1 1990 against Balmain at Leichhardt Oval. In the same year, Dunford played in Manly's Minor Semi-Final loss to the Brisbane Broncos. In 1991, Dunford played 21 games for Manly, mostly as their starting hooker. Unfortunately this also included both of their finals matches against North Sydney and Canberra which ended in defeat. For Manly it was a sad exit for the Graham Lowe coached side who had finished the minor round in 2nd place, but the late season loss of Des Hasler and Ian Roberts to injury couldn't be overcome. Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Sydney's Northern Beaches. They compete in the National Rugby League (NRL). The Manly club debuted in the 1947 New South Wales Rugby Football League season and currently hosts the majority of their home games at fortress Brookvale Oval in Brookvale. They train at the New South Wales Academy of Sport in Narrabeen and their Centre of Excellence in Brookvale. The team colours are maroon and white, and they are commonly known as ''Manly''. The club competed in the NSWRL, ARL, or NRL competitions in all respective seasons from 1947 until 1999. At the end of 1999, they entered into a joint venture with the North Sydney Bears to form the Northern Eagles, which rugby league statisticians regard as a separate club. Ian Roberts (rugby League)
Ian Roberts (born 31 July 1965) is an Australian actor and former professional rugby league player who played in the 1980s and 1990s. A forward, he played for New South Wales in State of Origin and won 13 caps for the Australia national team. He played club football for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Wigan, Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and North Queensland Cowboys. In 1995 Roberts became the first high-profile Australian sports person and first rugby league footballer in the world to come out to the public as gay. Blacktown Workers
The Blacktown Workers Rugby League Football Club, formerly known as Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles, are an Australian rugby league football club based in Blacktown, New South Wales formed in 1962. From 2017 until 2024, they had a side in the NSW Cup, as the feeder team to the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. However, this partnership ended after Blacktown Workers and Manly decided to mutually end the partnership and Manly reverted back their NSW Cup team to play under the banner of Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. NSW Cup
The NSW Cup, currently known as the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a rugby league competition for clubs in New South Wales. The competition has a history dating back to the NSWRFL's origins in 1908, starting off as a reserve grade competition, and is now the premier open age competition in the state. The New South Wales Cup, along with the Queensland Cup, acts as a feeder competition to the National Rugby League premiership. The competition is the oldest continuous rugby league competition in Australia. The NSW Cup is contested by reserve squads of NSW-based NRL teams and also includes sides representing teams that once competed at the first grade level in the NSWRL Premiership but no longer field teams in the NRL competition, and teams that have not fielded teams in the NRL competition.
