Matt DeCanio
Matt DeCanio (born April 5, 1977) is an American ex-professional racing cyclist. DeCanio is an outspoken critic of doping in the sport, and founded thStolen Undergroundanti-doping movement after voluntarily confessing to performance-enhancing drug use and serving a two-year ban for doping. DeCanio was sued in 2008 by convicted doper Kayle Leogrande for defamation, after publishing a recorded telephone call between himself and Suzanne Sonye, although the suit was thrown out by a judge in the Superior Court of California. In 2010 he was making a comeback to cycling, racing for French amateur team Olympique Cycliste Val d’Oise. In 2022 DeCanio wrote an autobiography detailing his entire racing career and the fallout of him calling out Lance Armstrong and others for doping, long before Armstrong admitted it. Tour de Beauce is a men's elite professional road bicycle racing multi-day event held each June in the Beauce region of Quebec, Canada since 1986. It is the oldest stage-race in North America, and is a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)-rated 2.2 continental circuit stage race on the UCI America Tour. The Tour de Langkawi is a multiple stage bicycle race held in Malaysia. It is named after the archipelago Langkawi, where the first edition started and finished. The race has been held annually since 1996, primarily in February. It usually consists of 10-day-long segments (stages) over 10 days, but has been reduced to eight stages over recent years. While the route changes each year, the Genting Highlands climb, the toughest in the tour, is always included. Kayle Leogrande
Kayle Leogrande (born March 29, 1977) is an American road racing cyclist, who is currently suspended from the sport. Leogrande was the 2006 winner of the United States National Amateur Criterium Championships, and spent two years with the infamous team, having turned professional in 2005 with US domestic squad . Leogrande was embroiled in a doping scandal in 2008, when it was alleged that he confessed his use of performance-enhancing drugs to a team staffer when competing at Superweek on July 26, 2007. Leogrande vigorously contested the charges brought against him by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), but was suspended for two years after a three-member arbitration panel concluded he had used EPO. Leogrande completed his suspension in late 2010, and announced his intention to compete again in a video released on YouTube.
