Matt Chandler (pastor)
Matt Chandler (born June 20, 1974) is an American Baptist evangelical Christian pastor. He is the senior pastor of Village Church, based in Flower Mound, Texas (Southern Baptist Convention, Southern Baptist) and the executive director of the board of the Acts 29 Network. Early life Chandler was born in Seattle, Washington. His father was in the military, causing him to move multiple times. They lived in Olympia, Washington; Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; Alameda, California, and Galveston, Texas. In Texas, the Chandler was a member of the high school football team. He often refers to Jeff Faircloth, a football teammate, was quick to share the good news of Jesus with him in a way that intrigued Chandler. Shane & Shane is a Texas-based contemporary worship music band known for acoustic Contemporary worship music, praise and worship music. John Sailhamer
John Herbert Sailhamer (October 17, 1946 – January 9, 2017) was an American professor of Old Testament studies at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California. He was president of the Evangelical Theological Society in 2000 and made notable contributions to Old Testament studies. Career After a B.A. at California State University, Long Beach, his Th.M. at Dallas Theological Seminary, and his M.A. and Ph.D. (1981) at University of California at Los Angeles, Sailhamer began his teaching career in 1975 at Biola University, then taught at Bethel Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Western Seminary (1995–98), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (1999–2006), and at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary beginning in 2006. Christian Hedonism
Christian hedonism is a Christian doctrine believed by some evangelicals. The term was coined by John Piper in his 1986 book ''Desiring God'' based on Vernard Eller's earlier use of the term ''hedonism'' to describe the same concept. Piper summarizes this philosophy of the Christian life as "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him." Doctrine The Westminster Shorter Catechism summarizes the "chief end of man" as "to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever." In Christianity, an elder is a person who is valued for wisdom and holds a position of responsibility and authority in a Christian group. Flower Mound
Flower Mound is an incorporated town located in Denton and Tarrant counties in the U.S. state of Texas. Located northwest of Dallas and northeast of Fort Worth adjacent to Grapevine Lake, the town derives its name from a prominent mound located in the center of town. After settlers used the site for religious camps during the 1840s, the area around Flower Mound was first permanently inhabited in the 1850s; however, residents did not incorporate until 1961.
