Mats Werner
Mats Rune "Matte" Werner (born 1 June 1953) is a Swedish former professional footballer. He played for Hammarby IF throughout most of his career. Club career Trained in the youth ranks of Hammarby IF, Werner made his debut in Allsvenskan, the domestic top tier, for the club in 1971, at age 17. Between 1971 and 1976, Hammarby consistently finished mid-table, being unable to produce any sort of challenge for the Swedish champion title. During this period, Werner became one of Hammarby's most important players, together with experienced Tom Turesson and other younger talents like Jan Sjöström, Kenneth Ohlsson and Ronnie Hellström. Hammarby reached the final of Svenska Cupen in 1977, the main domestic cup, but lost 0–1 to Östers IF. In 1979, Werner had re-positioned himself from a tough defender to a physical forward, a move that proved highly successful. Värnamo (), historically known as Wernamo, is a town in Jönköping County in the south of Sweden. It is situated on the river Lagan (Sweden), Lagan just north of the lake Vidöstern. It is the seat of Värnamo Municipality and has 19,822 inhabitants as of 31 December 2020. The name comes from old Swedish ''värn'' (Sconce (fortification), sconce) and ''mo'' (sandy flat land). Ronnie Hellström
Folke Ronnie Wallentin Hellström (21 February 1949 – 6 February 2022) was a Swedish professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He represented Hammarby IF and 1. FC Kaiserslautern during a career that spanned between 1966 and 1984. He was considered one of the world's best goalkeepers in the 1970s. In 1988, he played one Allsvenskan game for GIF Sundsvall following an injury crisis. As a full international between 1968 and 1980, he won 77 caps for the Sweden national team and represented his country at the 1970, 1974, and 1978 FIFA World Cups. He was awarded Guldbollen as Sweden's best footballer of the year in both 1971 and 1978. The Toronto Blizzard were a professional soccer club based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that played in the North American Soccer League (NASL). History The Toronto Metros joined the NASL in 1971. Their home field was Varsity Stadium. In 1975, 50% of the team was purchased for $250,000 by the Toronto Croatia of the National Soccer League (NSL), and the team became the Toronto Metros-Croatia. The club won the 1976 Soccer Bowl championship. However, they continued to struggle at the gate. Söderstadion
Söderstadion () was a football and bandy stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. It was opened in 1966 and closed in 2013, being replaced by nearby Tele2 Arena. Söderstadion had a capacity of 12,800 depending on usage. A record attendance of 22,000 was set on 31 October 1982, when Hammarby IF faced IFK Göteborg. There had already existed stadiums at the site, the earliest opened in 1918 under the name Johanneshovs Idrottsplats. After the stadium was closed, the site will now be used for new apartment buildings. Bandy was played at Söderstadion wintertime until 1989 and the Swedish championship final was traditionally played there. The Bandy World Championship 1987 final was played at the arena (2nd half of the video). The last bandy match at the stadium was the Swedish final of 1989.
