Matla Setu
Matla Setu is a bridge, built on Matla river in West Bengal. The 644 meter (2,113 ft) long bridge inaugurated by Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, former Chief Minister of West Bengal, on Matla river in Canning town of Caning subdivision in January 2011. Matla River
Matla River forms a wide estuary in and around the Sundarbans in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The main stream of the Matla River is divided into two arms near Purandar. One passes through Kultali-Garanbose and then passes through the Sundarbans. The other passes through Basanti, Pathankhali, Surjyaberia, Masjidbati and then meets Bidyadhari River. Canning
Canning is a method of food preservation in which food is processed and sealed in an airtight container ( jars like Mason jars, and steel and tin cans). Canning provides a shelf life that typically ranges from one to five years, although under specific circumstances, it can be much longer. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee
Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee also known as Buddha Babu (born 1 March 1944) is an Indian Communist politician and a former member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He served as the 7th Chief Minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011. He is a senior leader of Communist Party of India (Marxist), having served as a member of the politburo between 2002 and 2015. Bhattacharjee is known for leading a spartan and honest livelihood. Early life Born in 1944 in north Calcutta, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee belongs to a family which had produced another famous son.
