Matija Smrekar
Matija Smrekar (born 8 April 1989 in Zabok) is a Croatian footballer who plays as a forward for Zagorec Krapina. He was the winner of the Croatian U-19 league in the 2007–08 season with the junior team of Varteks, where he was one of their best players throughout the season. His father Božidar Smrekar is a former football referee. Career Smrekar made his senior debut with the Varteks in 2006. In the 2007–08 season, on the 24th matchday of the Croatian First Football League (Prva HNL) against Hajduk Split (Varteks won 4–0), he scored two goals, had one assist and was named the man of match. On 3 May 2009, during the 2008–09 Prva Liga, he scored another goal for Varteks against Hajduk Split in Split (1–0) and was again named the man of the match. Zabok
Zabok is a town and situated in northwest Croatia in the Krapina-Zagorje County. According to the 2011 census, it has a total population of 8,994, with 2,714 in Zabok itself. Zabok is situated on the main crossroads in the heart of Hrvatsko Zagorje region. Zabok is the economical centre of the Krapina-Zagorje County. History In 1782, Sigismund Vojković-Vojkffy started the construction of a church in Zabok, completing it in 1805. Slovenian Football Cup
The Slovenian Football Cup ( sl, Pokal Nogometne zveze Slovenije, ) is the top knockout tournament of Slovenian football and the second most important football competition in Slovenia after the Slovenian PrvaLiga championship. The cup was established in 1991 following the breakup of Yugoslavia. Since 2020, it has been known as Pokal Pivovarna Union after its headline sponsor, the Union Brewery. As of 2022, a total of 17 clubs have reached the cup final; the most successful side in the history of the competition is Maribor, who have triumphed 9 times in their 14 cup final appearances. The Slovenian PrvaLiga ( sl, Prva slovenska nogometna liga, ), currently named Prva liga Telemach due to sponsorship reasons, also known by the abbreviation 1. SNL, is the top level of the Slovenian football league system. Contested by ten clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Slovenian Second League (2. SNL). The 2008–09 Croatian First Football League (officially known as the T-Com Prva HNL for sponsorship reasons) was the eighteenth season of the Croatian First Football League, the national championship for men's association football teams in Croatia, since its establishment in 1992. HNK Hajduk Split
Hrvatski nogometni klub Hajduk Split, commonly referred to as Hajduk Split () or simply Hajduk, is a Croatian professional football club based in Split, that competes in the Croatian First League, the top tier in Croatian football.
