FC Reipas
Reipas Lahti is a sports club based in Lahti, Finland. It is involved in various of ball games and also other sports. The club emerged in the late 1940s, when the inhabitants of Viipuri had mostly been relocated in Lahti, after evacuation during World War II. As a consequence, the activities of Viipurin Reipas, which had been founded in 1891, were continued in the new home town of the evacuees. The name of the club was still Reipas Viipuri until 1962, when the ball game section became simply Reipas. Reipas has played in top-flight football, ice hockey and bandy, with particular success in football. In bandy, Reipas last appeared in top flight in 1967, but then discontinued its involvement in this sport the following year. In 1975, the football and ice hockey sections became independent clubs, football being continued under the name of Lahden Reipas, and ice hockey under the name of Kiekkoreipas, who now play as Pelicans. FC Lahti is a Finnish professional football club based in the city of Lahti. It currently plays in the Finnish second tier Ykkösliiga, after relegating from Veikkausliiga after the 2024 season. The homeground of Lahti is Toolpoint Arena. Lahti is famous of being the local team of the most successful Finnish player, Jari Litmanen, who played for the club in two stints in 2004 and 2009–10. In his youth years and the start of his career, he played in Reipas Lahti. History Lahti was founded in 1996 when two rival clubs from Lahti – Kuusysi and Reipas Lahti (founded in Viipuri and moved to Lahti after Viipuri was ceded to USSR in 1947) – decided to merge. Nurmijärven Jalkapalloseura
Nurmijärven Jalkapalloseura (abbreviated NJS) is a football club from Nurmijärvi, Finland. The club was formed in 2004 following the amalgamation of Nurmijärven Nateva and FC Nurmijärvi. The club's home ground is at the sports area of Klaukkala (''Klaukkalan urheilualue''). The men's first team currently plays in the Kakkonen (Third tier). Background NJS does not have a long history but the club gained promotion from the Nelonen to the Kolmonen at the end of the 2008 season. NJS's predecessor Nateva played one season in the Kakkonen (Second Division), the third tier of the Finnish football system, in 2001. Nateva gained promotion from Section 1 of the Nelonen (Uusimaa District) at the end of the 2004 season which enabled NJS to begin life in the Kolmonen in 2005. Reipas Lahti Players
Reipas (July 14, 1948 – September 20, 1971) was a successful Finnish harness racing, trotter. He was a Finnhorse gelding, and the first Finnish horse to earn over one million Finnish Mark, marks in one season. Reipas was the best earning trotter in Finland through 1958–1960, and his earnings each season exceeded one million Marks, corresponding roughly to EUR 20,000. He was owned and mostly driven by Aapeli Miettinen. Reipas competed in 1952–1965, winning 348 of his approximately 1300 heats. His greatest win count in one season was 62. Being a gelding, Reipas never had offspring. His statue has been erected in the town centre of his home, Varpaisjärvi.
