Mathilde Malling Hauschultz
Mathilde Johanne Malling Hauschultz (1885–1929) was a Danish lawyer and a pioneering female politician. She was one of the first four women to be elected to the Folketing (the Danish national parliament) in 1918. Biography Born on 2 December 1885 in Copenhagen, Mathilde Johanne Malling was the daughter of the high court lawyer Gustav Frederik Ludvig Vilhelm Schneider Malling (1855–1919) and Hortensia Martine Malmberg (1860–1946). Raised in a well-to-do environment, she matriculated from Laura Engelhardt's School in 1905, studied law at the University of Copenhagen and graduated as Cand.jur. in 1911. She immediately entered her father's legal firm, becoming a high court barrister and her father's partner in 1914. In 1915 she married the high court lawyer Rudolph Hauschultz (1884–1958) with whom she took over her father's business on his death in 1919. Berlingske Tidende
''Berlingske'', previously known as ''Berlingske Tidende'' (, ''Berling's Times''), is a Danish national daily newspaper based in Copenhagen. It is considered a newspaper of record for Denmark. First published on 3 January 1749, ''Berlingske'' is Denmark's, as well as the Nordic region's, oldest continually operating newspaper and among the oldest newspapers in the world. History and profile ''Berlingske'' was founded by Denmark's Royal Book Printer Ernst Henrich Berling and originally titled ''Kjøbenhavnske Danske Post-Tidender'', then the ''Berlingskes Politiske og Avertissements Tidende.'' The paper was supported by the Conservative Party. Until 1903 it had the official right to publish news about the government. In 1936, the newspaper's title was shortened to ''Berlingske Tidende''. Assistens Cemetery
Assistens Cemetery ( da, Assistens Kirkegård) is the name of a number of cemeteries in Denmark. The common nominator is, as the first part of the name implies (Latin: ''assistens'' meaning assisting), an assisting cemetery for a town's churches. Already by the end of the 17th century, Danish authorities deemed that the conditions for inner-city cemeteries were becoming increasingly unacceptable. Not only was the space becoming limited but it was also deemed unhygienic to conduct burial in the inner-city. The solution was to erect shared cemeteries in the outskirt of a town, named Assisting Cemetery, primarily in larger towns. The first of these in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, was founded by royal resolution on May 26, 1757, and inaugurated November 6, 1760.
