Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski is a Polish speedway team based in Gorzów Wielkopolski that currently competes in Speedway Ekstraliga. History Formation and beginnings The speedway section of club was officially registered 9 April 1950. At number 60 the register of sports associations was written down trade union sports club of Gorzów Wielkopolski. In July 1951 the Gorzów Wielkopolski club already had own 395-metres with path by the Śląska Street. After a few years of the struggle on III league paths and suspending the operations of the speedway chapter in 1953–1954 years, in 1955 the team is being Gorzów Wielkopolski reported to gameses of the II league. Vetlanda Speedway were a motorcycle speedway team based in Vetlanda, Sweden. Earlier known as Njudungarna and VMS Elit, the club was formed in 1946, and arranged their first meeting three years later. In 2003 when the club was promoted to the top division of Swedish speedway league, the Elitserien, they changed the name of club to VMS Elit. The current name Vetlanda Speedway was adopted in 2018. Grindsted Speedway Klub is a speedway club, based at the Billund Municipality Stadium, north of Grindsted in Denmark, who compete in the Danish Speedway League. The team have never won the Danish Speedway League but have spent numerous seasons in the highest league tier. Venue The club's track known as the Billund Municipality Stadium is located about 6 kilometres in a north east direction from the centre of Grindsted, on Blåbjergvej 1. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of soil, dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). The 2024 SGP2 series will be the 48th edition of the FIM Individual Under-21 World Championship. It will once again be staged as the SGP2 class of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series after rights holders Discovery Sports Events took over promotional rights of the competition in 2022. The three qualifying rounds were staged at Mâcon, Terenzano and Ludwigslust on 8 June. Participant riders were named by national federations, with a pre-qualifier staged by the DMU for Danish riders and the Polish Silver Helmet acting as a qualifier for Polish riders. The top four riders from each qualifying meeting progressed to the main SGP2 series. Villads Nagel, Bartosz Bańbor and Mikkel Andersen were then named as the three permanent wildcards by the SGP Commission, joining the 12 qualifiers in the main series.
