Mateusz Rutkowski
Mateusz Rutkowski (born 18 April 1986) is a Polish former ski jumper. He represented the Polish national team to win a gold medal at the 2004 World Junior Championships individually, and silver medal with the team at the same championships. Personal life Mateusz Rutkowski was born in Skrzypne, Poland. He has a younger brother Łukasz, who is a ski jumper too. Mateusz was considered the most talented Polish ski jumper and Adam Małysz's successor. Career February 7, 2004 he won the gold medal at the World Junior Championships as the first Pole in history. Adam Henryk Małysz (; born 3 December 1977) is a Polish former ski jumper and rally driver. He competed in ski jumping from 1995 to 2011 and is one of the most successful athletes in the history of the sport. His many accomplishments include four World Cup titles (a male record shared with Matti Nykänen), four individual Winter Olympic medals, four individual World Championship gold medals (an all-time record), 39 individual World Cup competition wins, 96 World Cup podiums (individual and team), and being the first male ski jumper to win three consecutive World Cup titles. He is also a winner of the Four Hills Tournament, the only three-time winner of the Nordic Tournament, and a former ski flying world record holder. Planica
Planica () is an Alpine valley in northwestern Slovenia, extending south from the border village of Rateče, not far from another well-known ski resort, Kranjska Gora. Further south, the valley extends into the Tamar Valley, a popular hiking destination in Triglav National Park. Planica is famous for ski jumping. The first ski jumping hill was constructed before 1930 at the slope of Mount Ponca. The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup is the world's highest level of ski jumping and the FIS Ski Flying World Cup as the subdivisional part of the competition. Łukasz Rutkowski (born 22 January 1988 in Zakopane) is a Polish ski jumper. Personal life Łukasz Rutkowski was born in Zakopane, Poland. He has an older brother Mateusz, who is a ski jumper too. Career He made his Continental Cup debut in February 2006, his best result being a sixth place from Vikersund in March 2008. He also finished seventh in the normal hill at both the 2006 and 2008 Junior World Championships; at the latter event he also won a bronze medal in the team competition.
