Mastuj
Mastuj () is a tehsil and a valley in Upper Chitral District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Mastuj is the principal settlement. It is located at 36°17'0N 72°31'0E with an altitude of 2359 metres (7742 feet). There are ruins of old fort built originally in 18th century and reconstructed several times. Kuragh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Kuragh is a village located in Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It falls in Mastuj tehsil. History The narrow passageways in the mountains near Kuragh witnessed battles between local warriors under Sher Afzal Khan and British troops in late 19th century. Terrain Kuragh is situated on Kunar River which is also known as Mastuj River or Chitral River. The river here is a narrow gorge. The village is located at the confluence of Mastuj and Mulkhow valleys. Demographics There are about 250 households in Kuragh belonging to Sunni and Ismaili communities. Chitral District
Chitral District (; ) was a district in the Malakand Division of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, from 14 August 1947 to 2018. It was the largest district in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, covering an area of 14,850 km2, before splitting into Upper and Lower Chitral Districts in 2018. It was the northernmost district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It shared a border with Gilgit-Baltistan to the east and with Swat and Dir districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the south. Buni
Buni (; also spelled Booni) is a town and the headquarters of Upper Chitral District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The high Qaqlasht Meadows, which host a major festival in the region, are situated near the town. Lying near the foothills of the Buni Zom, Buni is located in proximity to glacial lakes due to which the town has faced floodings various times. Through the glacial melting followed by heavy monsoon rainfalls, the region was severely affected by the floods during August 2024. Charun-Oweer
Charun-Oweer is an isolated village 10 kilometers to the North of Charun, Chitral, Charun in the Mastuj Tehsil of District Chitral District in Pakistan. The village takes its name from Oweer Valley. It lies at about 7,500 feet (2,300 m) above sea level. Charun-Oweer is bordered by River Mastuj and Jeenal-Kouch to the north, Booni River to the northeast. Upper Chitral District
Upper Chitral District (; ) is an administrative district in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Kho people are the dominant ethnic group in the district, forming 99.84% of the total population. Chitral River flows across the length of the district. Upper Chitral District along with Lower Chitral District were part of the erstwhile Chitral District which was the largest district in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, covering an area of 14,850 km2. Behrain, also known as Upper Swat Valley and Swat Kohistan, is a tehsil located in Swat District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The population is 270,620, according to the 2023 census. Upper Dir District (, ) is a district located in the Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The city of Dir is its district headquarter.
