Master Series
''Master Series'' is the title of a line of greatest hits albums, released in European countries primarily by PolyGram International, as well as A&M Records, Deram Records, FFRR Records, Mercury Records, and Polydor Records. In addition, some albums were reissued by Universal Music Group under the ''Universal Masters Collection'' and ''Millennium Edition'' titles. Series Four ''Master Series'' series of albums were released: from 1987–1990, 1996–1998, 1998–1999, and from 2003 onwards. Greatest Hits
A greatest hits album or best-of album is a type of compilation album that collects popular and commercially successful songs by a particular artist or band. While greatest hits albums are typically supported by the artist, they can also be created by record companies without express approval from the original artist as a means to generate sales. They are typically regarded as a good starting point for new fans of an artist, but are sometimes criticized by longtime fans as not inclusive enough or necessary at all. It is also common for greatest hits albums to include new recordings, remixes or unreleased alternate takes of the hit songs, plus other new material as bonus tracks to increase appeal for longtime fans (who might otherwise already own the recordings included). Mike Brant
Mike Brant (born Moshe Michael Brand, ; 1 February 1947 – 25 April 1975) was an Israeli singer and songwriter who achieved fame after moving to France. His most successful hit was "Laisse-moi t'aimer" ("Let Me Love You"). Brant died by suicide at the height of his career by jumping from a window of an apartment in Paris. He was known for his vocal range going from baritone to high tenor and also a very high and powerful falsetto. In a career spanning five years, Mike Brant sold around 15 million records, mostly in France. Early life Mike Brant's Jewish parents were from Poland. His mother, Bronia Rosenberg, originally from Łódź, was a survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp. His father, Fishel Brand, from Biłgoraj, had been a resistance fighter during World War II, and was 20 years his wife's senior. Claude François
Claude Antoine Marie François (; 1 February 1939 – 11 March 1978), also known by the nickname Cloclo, was a French pop singer, composer, songwriter, record producer, drummer and dancer. François co-wrote the lyrics of " Comme d'habitude" (composed by Jacques Revaux), the original version of "My Way" and composed the music of "Parce que je t'aime mon enfant", the original version of " My Boy". Among his other famous songs are " Le Téléphone Pleure", "Le lundi au soleil", "Magnolias for Ever" and " Alexandrie Alexandra". He also enjoyed considerable success with French-language versions of English-language songs, including " Belles! Belles! Belles!" (The Everly Brothers' " Made to Love"), "Cette année là" ("December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)") and "Je vais à Rio" (" I Go to Rio").
