''Master of Death'' (Serbian language, Serbian: ''Gospodar smrti'') was a Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Yugoslav Adventure (genre), adventure/Fantasy (genre), fantasy comic strip about the masked hero of the same name, created by artist Đorđe Lobačev. Master of Death appeared in four stories published in comic magazine ''Mikijevo carstvo'' (''Mickey Mouse, Mickey's Kingdom'') from 1939 to 1940. ''Master of Death'' is considered one of the most notable titles of the "Golden Age of Serbian Comics". History ''Master of Death'' was created by artist Đorđe Lobačev. The first ''Master of Death'' story was published in comic magazine ''Mikijevo carstvo'' in November 1939. Đorđe Lobačev
Đorđe Lobačev ( sr-cyr, Ђорђе Лобачев) or Yuriy Lobachev (; 1909–2002) was a Soviet Union, Soviet Russian People, Russian and Serbian-Yugoslavian comic strip author and illustrator. He was one of the pioneers of the comic strip in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the interwar period. Most of his comics from this period have themes from the history of Serbia and Serbian folklore. He lived Yugoslavia until 1949 when he was expelled during the Informbiro period because he was a Soviet people, Soviet citizen. He lived in Romania for few years before moving to the Soviet Russia where he spent the rest of his life. He was the author of the first Soviet comic strip ''Hurricane Comes to the Rescue'' in 1966. He is widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of both Serbian and Russian comic strip. Personifications of death are found in many religions and mythologies. In more modern stories, a character known as the Grim Reaper (usually depicted as a berobed skeleton wielding a scythe) causes the victim's death by coming to collect that person's soul.
