Massimo Murdocca
Massimo Murdocca (born 2 September 1984) is an Australian retired professional soccer player who last played as a right or central midfielder for National Premier Leagues club Nunawading City FC. Club career Before joining Brisbane Roar, Murdocca played for South Melbourne and Carlton SC in the now defunct National Soccer League, and for Fawkner Blues in the Victorian Premier League. Murdocca had a hugely successful spell with the Roar, making 182 appearances and scoring four goals over eight seasons from 2005 to 2013. After his release from Brisbane, Murdocca signed a two-year deal with Melbourne Heart. Murdocca played in all 27 games of the 2013–14 A-League season, as his side finished in bottom place. The following season, Murdocca's role was reduced, starting in just 7 games. Murdocca was released from the club at the end of the 2014–15 season. In May 2015 Murdocca signed with Avondale. Brisbane Roar Football Club is a professional soccer club based in Brisbane, Queensland. competing in Australia's premier men's competition, A-League Men, which is the top tier Australia's football pyramid. 2010–11 Brisbane Roar FC Season
The 2010–11 season was Brisbane Roar's 6th season in the A-League. On Friday 4 February 2011, Brisbane Roar were confirmed as Premiers with two games remaining in the regular season. The seasons' Premiers Plate is the first piece of silverware for the club and meant automatic qualification for the group stages of the 2012 Asian Champions League. After a thrilling grand final which went to a penalty shootout, the Roar prevailed and were crowned A-League Champions. 2009–10 Brisbane Roar FC Season
The 2009–10 season was Brisbane Roar's fifth season in the A-League. For the first time, Brisbane Roar was not the sole representative from the state of Queensland, being joined by Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury. The addition of the new clubs and a change of ownership of the Roar have led to the club changing its name from ''Queensland Roar'' to ''Brisbane Roar''. The change of ownership also brought about notable changes in the clubs' administrative ranks. Peter McLennan became CEO in place of the retiring Lawrence Oudendyk, while Chris Bombolas took the role of club chairman in June, which had been vacant since the departure of John Ribot in March 2008. 2005–06 Queensland Roar FC Season
The 2005–06 Queensland Roar season would mark the first season for the Hyundai A-League. Queensland Lions withdrew their first team from the QLD State League and entered it in the new fledgling competition as ‘The Roar’ having been accepted by Football Federation Australia to take part as the sole representative for Queensland after no other club was able to raise the required funds to participate. The Queensland Roar were previously playing in the Brisbane Premier League under the name Queensland Lions. 2005–06 season The Queensland Roar made their A-League debut against the now-defunct New Zealand Knights, in a 2–0 win in front of over twenty thousand fans at their home ground of Suncorp Stadium. The 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship was the 14th FIFA World Youth Championship. It took place in United Arab Emirates between 27 November and 19 December 2003. The 2013–14 A-League was the 37th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the ninth of the A-League since its establishment in 2004. The season began on 11 October 2013, with Western Sydney Wanderers as the defending A-League Premiers and Central Coast Mariners as the defending A-League Champions.
