Massimo Giorgetti
Massimo Giorgetti (born 20 October 1959 in Verona) is an Italian politician from Veneto. Giorgetti joined the Italian Social Movement in 1975 and served as the party's provincial secretary in Verona. In 1995 he joined National Alliance (AN). Five times elected to the Regional Council of Veneto (1995, 2000, 2010, 2005 and 2015) for AN (1995, 2000 and 2005), The People of Freedom (2010) and finally Forza Italia (2015), he was regional minister for 20 consecutive years: minister of Environment in Galan I Government (1995–2000), minister of Public Works in Galan II Government (2000–2005), Galan I Government (2005–2010) and Zaia I Government (2010–2015). From 2015 to 2020 he was Vice President of the Regional Council. Having joined the Brothers of Italy in 2019, he stood for re-election in the 2020 regional election, but was not elected, ending 25 years in the Regional Council. Verona
Verona ( , ; vec, Verona or ) is a city on the Adige River in Veneto, Italy, with 258,031 inhabitants. It is one of the seven provincial capitals of the region. The fourth Berlusconi government was the 60th government of Italy, in office from 8 May 2008 to 16 November 2011. It was the fourth government led by Silvio Berlusconi, who then became the longest-serving Prime Minister of Italy of the Italian Republic (3340 days in office). Giulio Tremonti () (born 18 August 1947) is an Italian politician. He served in the government of Italy as Minister of Economy and Finance under Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi from 1994 to 1995, from 2001 to 2004, from 2005 to 2006, and from 2008 to 2011. 2020 Venetian Regional Election
The 2020 Venetian regional election took place in Veneto on 20 and 21 September 2020. Originally scheduled to take place on 31 May 2020, it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic in Italy and was part of a round of multiple regional elections in Italy (7 regions out of 20). Venetian voters elected their President and their Regional Council, composed of 51 members including the President. Luca Zaia, the second-term incumbent President and leading member of the League, was re-elected by a record 76.8% of the vote, the highest tally for a regional President in Italy. The runner-up, Arturo Lorenzoni, backed mainly by the Democratic Party, won 15.7% of the vote. Regarding parties results, the League ran in this election presenting two lists: the official League list and a list named after Zaia. Combined, the two lists won 61.5% of the vote.
