Massimo Cuttitta
Massimo Cuttitta (; 2 September 1966 – 11 April 2021) was an Italian professional rugby union player and coach. He used to play as a prop. He was the twin brother of Marcello Cuttitta. Early life Cuttitta was born at Latina. His family moved to South Africa in the late 1960s, where the Cuttitta brothers, including older sibling Michele, started to practise rugby. He attended High School at Pinetown Boys' High School along with his brother. Club rugby After the return to Italy, Massimo and Marcello started to play at a more serious level at L'Aquila Rugby. In 1988, they both moved to Amatori Rugby Milano, where Massimo played until 1997. He won four titles of Italian Champion, in 1990/91, 1992/93, 1994/95 and 1995/96, and the Cup of Italy, for 1995. He later went to play for Harlequin F.C., in England, for the season of 1997/98. Latina, Lazio
Latina () is the capital of the province of Latina, in the Lazio region, in Central Italy. The Men's Rugby World Cup is a rugby union tournament contested every four years between the top international teams, the winners of which are recognised as the World championship, world champions of the sport. Cuttitta Cup
The Cuttitta Cup is a trophy in rugby union awarded to the winner of the annual Six Nations Championship match between Italy and Scotland. The trophy commemorates Massimo Cuttitta, a former Italian captain and Scotland scrum coach, who died of COVID-19 in 2021 at the age of 54. The title was first contested in 2022, following the 2022 Six Nations Championship match between the competing nations, and was presented by his brothers Marcello and Michele Cuttitta. It was designed and manufactured from solid silver by Edinburgh jewellers Hamilton & Inches, who have also cared for the Calcutta Cup and crafted the Doddie Weir Cup. The handles of the cup represent two props, in memory of Massimo. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. In January 2020, the disease spread worldwide, resulting in the COVID-19 pandemic. Edinburgh Rugby (formerly Edinburgh Reivers, Edinburgh Gunners) is one of the two professional rugby union teams from Scotland. The club competes in the United Rugby Championship, along with the Glasgow Warriors, its oldest rival. Edinburgh plays the majority of its home games at Edinburgh Rugby Stadium. The 2000 Six Nations Championship was the first series of the rugby union Six Nations Championship, following the addition of Italy national rugby union team, Italy to the Five Nations. It was the 106th season of the championship overall. The title was won by England national rugby union team, England. England won their first four games and met winless Scotland in their final match. Scotland earned a surprising victory and denied England the Grand Slam. Italy won their first game in the championship with a surprising 34–20 win over Scotland, who had won the previous year's Five Nations.
