Massimo Bogianckino
Massimo Bogianckino (10 November 1922 – 8 December 2009) was an Italian pianist, artistic director, and politician. Life Born in Rome of Romanian origin on his father's side, descendant on his mother's side from the family of Gabriele D'Annunzio, Bogianckino studied humanities and in the meantime studied the piano with Alfredo Casella and Alfred Cortot, graduating from the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia. He began his career as a concert performer and composer, but later preferred the path of teaching. He taught piano at the Carnegie Institute of Pittsburgh (now Carnegie Mellon University) in 1950 and 1951, then returned to Italy first at the conservatory of Pesaro and then in Rome where he conducted the Accademia Filarmonica Romana between 1960 and 1963. Between 1967 and 1994 he taught the history of music (with periods of leave), at the University of Perugia, where he later became director of the Institute of Medieval and Modern Art History. Italian Communist Party
The Italian Communist Party ( it, Partito Comunista Italiano, PCI) was a communist political party in Italy. The PCI was founded as ''Communist Party of Italy'' on 21 January 1921 in Livorno by seceding from the Italian Socialist Party (PSI). Amadeo Bordiga, Antonio Gramsci, and Nicola Bombacci led the split. Outlawed during the Fascist regime, the party played a major role in the Italian resistance movement. It changed its name in 1943 to PCI and became the second largest political party of Italy after World War II, attracting the support of about a third of the vote share during the 1970s. At the time, it was the largest communist party in the West, with peak support reaching 2.3 million members, in 1947, and peak share being 34.4% of the vote (12.6 million votes) in the 1976 general election. Jean-Louis Martinoty (20 January 1946 in Étampes – 27 January 2016 in Neuilly-sur-Seine) was a French writer and an opera director.. Renowned for his stagings of baroque operas in the eighties, he was also General Administrator of the Paris Opera (1986–1989). Biography Jean-Louis Martinoty spent his childhood and his teens in Algeria where his father was a tax official. In 1961, his parents returned to France and settled in Nice. Martinoty studied classical letters and cello. He started his professional life as a French teacher for some years, then becoming a writer and music critic for the newspaper ''L'Humanité''. In 1972, he interviewed the stage director Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, who invited him to come to the Salzburg Festival where he was preparing Mozart's ''The Marriage of Figaro''. Giorgio Morales
Giorgio Morales (26 March 1932 – 29 November 2020) was an Italian politician who served as Mayor of Florence from 1989 to 1995. Career Morales began his political life at a very early age, first joining the Popular Unity (UP) party and then in 1957 becoming a member of the Italian Socialist Party (PSI). After graduating in Political Science from the Cesare Alfieri Institute of the University of Florence, in 1970 he was appointed coordinator of the Legislative Office of the Regional Council. Lando Conti (1 November 1933 – 10 February 1986) was an Italian politician and past Mayor of Florence, Italy, who was assassinated by the terrorist group the Red Brigades. Biography Conti was the mayor of Florence from 26 March 1984 until 26 September 1985. He was a member of the Italian Republican Party. On 10 February 1986 he was shot dead by the Red Brigades.
