Diane Massam
Diane Massam is a Canadian linguist. She earned her PhD in linguistics under Noam Chomsky in 1985 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She held a position in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Toronto from 1989 until her retirement in 2017, when she became professor emeritus. Massam specializes in the syntax of Niuean, an Austronesian language spoken in the South Pacific country of Niue. She developed an analysis of a type of verb plus noun compounding called noun incorporation which has opened a window to analyze similar phenomena in other languages. Her analysis also proposed a novel way of understanding the relationship between a subject and its predicate. Rob Massam (born 29 October 1987) AKA The Thing on The Wing, is a Wales international rugby league footballer who plays as a er for the North Wales Crusaders in Betfred League 1. He has previously played for the Rochdale Hornets. He was a key player for Chester Gladiators, and was selected to represent England Lionhearts in 2010 scoring the winning try in England's 34–30 win over Wales Dragonhearts in Somerset. He scored against Wales Dragonhearts again in 2011 in Caerphilly but was unable to stop the Welsh from winning 30-24 and lifting the trophy. Representative Massam qualifies for Wales through residency as he moved to Wrexham at a young age. Hélène Menexia Massam (died August 22, 2020) was a statistician known for her research on the Wishart distribution and on graphical models. She was a professor of mathematics and statistics at York University in Canada. Education and career Massam earned a bachelor's degree from McGill University in 1971. She stayed on at McGill for graduate studies, earning a master's degree in 1973 and completing her doctorate in 1977.
