Massachusetts Avenue Line
The Massachusetts Avenue Line, designated Route N2, N4, N6, is a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Friendship Heights station of the Red Line of the Washington Metro and Farragut Square in Downtown Washington DC. The line operates every 27 minutes during the weekdays and every 40 minutes on weekends. Trips take roughly 45 minutes to complete. Route description The Massachusetts Avenue Line is operated by routes N2, N4, and N6. Friendship Heights Station
Friendship Heights station is a Washington Metro station on the Red Line straddling the border of Washington, D.C., and Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The station was opened on August 25, 1984, and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Location The station is at the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest and serves the neighborhoods of Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights. Embassy Row is the informal name for a section of Northwest Washington, D.C., with a high concentration of embassies, diplomatic missions, and diplomatic residences. It spans Massachusetts Avenue N.W. between 18th and 35th street, bounded by Scott Circle to the south and the United States Naval Observatory to the north; the term is often applied to nearby streets and neighborhoods that also host diplomatic buildings, such as Kalorama. The Red Line is a rapid transit line of the Washington Metro system, consisting of 27 metro station, stations in Montgomery County, Maryland, Montgomery County, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., in the United States. It is a primary line through downtown Washington and the oldest and busiest line in the system. National Harbor–Southern Avenue Line
The National Harbor Line, designated as Route NH1, was a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Southern Avenue station of the Green Line of the Washington Metro and National Harbor. The line operated every 30 minutes at rush hour and 40 minutes all other times. NH1 trips were roughly 30–35 minutes. This line provided service to National Harbor and MGM National Harbor from Southern Avenue station. Service to Alexandria, Virginia was provided by the NH2. SmarTrip is a contactless stored-value smart card payment system managed by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) uses a compatible payment system called CharmCard. A reciprocity agreement between the MTA and WMATA allows either card to be used for travel on any of the participating transit systems in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. Unlike traditional paper farecards or bus passes, SmarTrip/CharmCard is designed to be permanent and reloadable; the term "SmarTrip" may refer to both payment systems unless otherwise noted.
