Masinaickenpatti is a census town in the Vazhapadi taluk of Salem district, in Tamil Nadu, India. Geography Masinaickenpatti is within Vazhapadi taluk, which is in the central part of Salem district. It is in the western part of the taluk, near the border with Salem taluk. It is located west of Vazhapadi, the taluk headquarters, east of Salem, the district headquarters, and southwest of the state capital of Chennai. It is south of the Shevaroy Hills which surround the town of Yercaud. National Highways 79 and 179A run through the town. Demographics In 2011 Masinaickenpatti had a population of 9,098 people. 4,695 (51.6%) of the inhabitants were male, while 4,403 (48.4%) were female. 903 children in the town, about 10% of the population, were at or below the age of 6. Vazhapadi Taluk
Vazhapadi taluk is one of the thirteen taluks of Salem district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Vazhapadi. Administration Vazhapadi taluk is divided into two revenue blocks, Valapady block and Ayothiapattinam block. Valapady block is composed of the eastern half of the taluk and parts of Peddanayakkan Palayam taluk, while Ayothiapattinam block includes the western half of the taluk and some parts of Salem taluk. Towns There are three town panchayats and one census town in Vazhapadi taluk. National Highway 79 (NH 79) is a National Highway in India entirely within the state of Tamil Nadu. It runs between Ulundurpettai and Salem in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu for a total of . It connects with NH 44 and NH 544 at Salem. NH 79 connects NH 68 and SH 69 at Ulundurpettai and SH 6 at kallakurichi. It was upgraded to a dual carriageway road in two phases on a Build-operate-transfer basis by Reliance Infrastructure and Maytas. Shevaroy Hills
The Selvarayan hills, with the anglicised name Shevaroy Hills, are a towering mountain range (1620 m) near the city of Salem, in Tamil Nadu state, southern India. It is one of the major hill stations in Tamil Nadu and in the Eastern Ghats. The local Tamil name comes from a local deity, ''Selvarayan''.
