Imafuku Masakazu
was a Japanese samurai of the Sengoku period who served the Takeda clan. He was also known as and held the Kokushi (official), court title of ''Chikuzen no kami''. Masakazu was the son of , the Takeda retainer who had built Kunōzan Castle and served as its warden. Masakazu's landholding, starting in 1563, was in the Suwa District of Shinano province. He was active under both Takeda Shingen and Shingen's son Takeda Katsuyori, Katsuyori as a commander of infantry . He also served for a time as the warden of Takashima Castle. Masakazu Nakai
(14 February 1900 – 18 May 1952) was a Japanese aesthetician, film theorist, librarian, and social activist. Career Born in Hiroshima Prefecture, Nakai studied philosophy at Kyoto University, particularly aesthetics under Yasukazu Fukuda. He started the dōjinshi ''Bi hihyō'' in 1930, which changed its name to ''Sekai bunka'' in 1935. He became a lecturer at Kyoto University while being active in left-wing social movements, protesting Japan's tilt towards fascism and promoting popular forms of culture through such concepts at the "logic of the committee." Nakai co-founded the popular culture tabloid '' Doyōbi'' (''Saturday'') in 1936. However, the magazine was discontinued in 1937 with his arrest for anti-fascist political activity under the Peace Preservation Law. Nakai also lost his university position as a result of the arrest. Masakazu Yamazaki
was a Japanese writer, literary critic, and philosopher. Biography Born in Kyoto, Yamazaki grew up in Manchuria during World War II. He studied philosophy with a concentration in aesthetics and art history at Kyoto University. After his studies in Kyoto, he studied at Yale University from 1965 to 1967, where he would also teach. Upon his return to Japan, he taught at Kansai University and, until his retirement, at Osaka University. In 1972, alongside Minoru Betsuyaku, he co-founded the ''Te no Kai'' theatre company, where he wrote the plays ''Fune wa Hosen yo'' and ''Mokuzō Haritsuke''. Yamazaki's most well-known play, ''Zeami'', was dedicated to the founder of the Noh genre of theatre, Zeami Motokiyo. For this play, he won the Kishida Prize for Drama in 1963. is a Japanese professional shogi player ranked 6- dan. Early life, amateur shogi and apprenticeship Watanabe was born on January 23, 1986, in Ōi, Saitama (currently Fujimino, Saitama). He learned how to play shogi from his father, and was a well-known strong amateur player as a teenager, performing well in a number of national tournaments.
