Masai Russell
Masai Russell ( ; born June 17, 2000) is an American track and field sprinter and hurdler. She won the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in the 100 m hurdles event. Russell is the U.S. NCAA Record holder in the 100 m hurdles. Russell holds personal bests of 12.17 seconds over 100 m hurdles which is second-fastest of all time and the American Record, 7.74 seconds over 60 metres hurdles, which is tied for thirteenth-fastest of all time and 54.66 seconds over 400 metres hurdles. Career In 2021, Russell ran her first sub-13s 100 m hurdles in placing second in her heat at the SEC Championships. She went on to place sixth in the final. Later that year, Russell ran 12.93s to make the final of the NCAA Division I Championships, where she finished sixth. At the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships, Russell placed third in the 100 m hurdles and fourth in the 400 m hurdles. 2024 United States Olympic Trials (track And Field)
The 2024 United States Olympic trials for track and field were held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Organized by USA Track and Field, the ten-day competition lasted from June 21 to 30 and served as the national championships in track and field for the United States. 44 events were held, 22 for men and 22 for women. The marathon trials were held on February 3, 2024, in Orlando, Florida. During the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, track and field events will be held between Thursday, August 1 and Sunday, August 11 with competition beginning each day at 4 am. ET. The women's 100 metres hurdles at the 2024 Summer Olympics was held in four rounds at the Stade de France in Paris, France, between 7 and 10 August 2024. This was the fourteenth time that the women's 100 metres hurdles was contested at the Summer Olympics. The 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships was the 19th edition of the international indoor track and field competition, organised by the World Athletics. The event was held between 1–3 March at the Commonwealth Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, Commonwealth Arena in Glasgow, United Kingdom. It was the third time, after 2003 IAAF World Indoor Championships, Birmingham 2003 and 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships, 2018, that the World Indoor Championships were held in the United Kingdom, and the first time in Scotland. The women's 100 metres hurdles at the 2023 World Athletics Championships was held at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest from 22 to 24 August 2023. 2023 USA Outdoor Track And Field Championships
The 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships were held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon from July 6–9, 2023. They served as USA Track & Field's (USATF) national championships in track and field for the United States. The results of the event determined qualification for the 2023 World Athletics Championships, held in Budapest, and the 2023 Pan American Games, held in Santiago, Chile. Provided they achieved the World standard or are in the World Athletics ranking quota, the top two athletes in each event will gain a place on the Team USA World team. In the event that a leading athlete does not hold the standard, or an athlete withdraws, the next-highest-finishing athlete with the standard will be selected instead. The 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships was the 101st NCAA Division I Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships and the 41st NCAA Division I Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Texas Relays
The Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays is an annual track and field competition held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. The University of Texas serves as host for the event, held on either the last weekend of March or first weekend of April. Events are held in High School, College, University, and Invitational divisions. History In response to cold-weather conditions at the Kansas Relays, the Texas Relays was started as a men's-only competition in 1925 by University of Texas coach Clyde Littlefield and athletic director Theo Bellmont. The Relays were held at Memorial Stadium until Mike A. Myers Stadium was opened in 1999. The meet was not held 1932–1934 as a result of the Great Depression. Women's events were added in 1963. Grace Stark
Grace Stark (born May 6, 2001) is an American hurdler. She was fifth in the 100m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Early life From White Lake, Michigan, she attended Lakeland High School. As a junior in 2018, she won MHSAA Division 1 state championship titles over 100 metres and 100 metres hurdles. In the hurdles she ran the fastest time ever recorded by a Michigan high school athlete. She attended the University of Florida. Career Stark won the NCAA Indoor 60m hurdles title in 2022, having run a personal best 7.83 seconds in the heats and lowering it to 7.78 in the final. This time equalled the collegiate record set by Brianna Rollins in 2013. She missed competition time due to a broken leg sustained at the SEC Outdoor Championships in 2022.
