is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, who has served as a member of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). The is the upper house of the National Diet of Japan. The House of Representatives (Japan), House of Representatives is the lower house. In 1996 and 2013, the National Police Agency estimated that there were over 1,000 right-wing groups in Japan, with about 100,000 members in total. Philosophies and activities are well known for their highly visible propaganda vehicles, known as '' gaisensha'' (街宣車). The Koizumi Children are loosely organized into a political association called . The term is a reference to then-prime minister Junichiro Koizumi, with whom the LDP success in the 2005 elections is closely associated. Some of the children were so-called 'assassins,' candidates hand-picked by Koizumi to defeat LDP party members who opposed his efforts at postal reform.
