Mary-Jane Foster is an American TV commercial actress, sports team owner and politician. She is the co-founder of the Bridgeport Bluefish, a minor league baseball franchise in the Atlantic League, and the former vice president of university relations at the University of Bridgeport. In 2011, Foster ran for mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut, unsuccessfully challenging incumbent mayor Bill Finch in the city's Democratic primary. Bill Finch (politician)
Bill Finch (born March 4, 1956) is an American retired politician who served as mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut for eight years after previously serving in the Connecticut Senate for seven years. As mayor, he was known for his strong environmentally friendly policies and his tax reform efforts, both of which received local and national praise. He was defeated for re-election as mayor in 2015 by former mayor and convicted felon Joe Ganim. Finch has since moved on to the private sector and rejected the idea of running for mayor again. The Quinnipiac were a historical Indigenous people of the Northeastern Woodlands. They lived in present-day New Haven County, Connecticut, along the Quinnipiac River. Joseph Peter Ganim (born October 21, 1959) is an American Democratic politician and former attorney who is the mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Bridgeport Bluefish were an American minor league baseball team based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The team was a member of the Liberty Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, which was not affiliated with Major League Baseball. They played their home games at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard from 1998 to 2017. The franchise had announced it would relocate to High Point, North Carolina, in 2019, but ceased operations instead.
