Marwin Angeles
Marwin Janver Malinay Angeles (born 9 January 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder in the Philippines national team. He is currently free of any contract. Born in Venice, Italy to Filipino parents, Angeles spent his youth career at Venezia. In 2011, he moved to the Philippines to play in the United Football League (UFL), having spells with Laos, Global, and Ceres. In 2017, he joined Kaya with whom he won the first edition of the Copa Paulino Alcantara, and in 2021 scored the first-ever AFC Champions League goal for a Filipino club. Angeles represented the Philippines at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games and 2012 AFF Championship. His twin brother, Marvin, is also a footballer. The association football tournament at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games (Indonesian: ''Sepak bola di SEA Games 2011'') took place from 3 to 21 November 2011. This edition of the tournament was only for the men's competition. No women's competition was held as the host nation Indonesia did not have enough stadiums to host two categories of football at the same time, but other reasons were put into consideration, such as the poor performance of the Indonesian women's national team. It was played among U-23 (under 23 years old) national teams. All matches took place in Jakarta. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). The 2012 Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy was the fourth edition of the invitational tournament hosted by Brunei. The tournament took place in Brunei between 25 February and 5 March 2012. The competition is for players under the age of 22 and is being held only for the fourth time after 2002, 2005 and 2007. The tournament was not held in 2009 following the suspension imposed on the Brunei Amateur Football Association (BAFA) by FIFA. The organisers of the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy 2012 have offered US$15,500 as reward for the champions. 2017 Philippines Football League
The 2017 Philippines Football League was the inaugural season of the Philippines Football League (PFL), the professional football league of the Philippines. The league was officially launched on 21 April 2017 at Shangri-La at the Fort in Taguig, while the first match of the season was played on 6 May. The PFL replaced the Metro Manila-based United Football League (UFL), which served as the country's ''de facto'' top-level football league from 2009 to 2016. The league was made up of 8 clubs: 6 from the UFL ( Ceres, Global, JP Voltes, Kaya, Loyola Meralco Sparks, and Stallion) and 2 expansion teams ( Davao Aguilas and Ilocos United).
