Marvin Hunt
Marvin Hunt (born September 6, 1951) is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2013 provincial election for the Surrey-Panorama riding. He was re-elected in the district of Surrey-Cloverdale in the 2017 provincial election as a member of the British Columbia Liberal Party. He was defeated in the 2020 provincial election. He was also defeated as a Social Credit Party candidate in the 1986 provincial election in the riding of Surrey-Guildford-Whalley. In government, he served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. He also served as the Official Opposition critic for Social Development and Poverty Reduction. Prior to his election to the legislature, Hunt was a longtime member of Surrey City Council. 2013 British Columbia General Election
The 2013 British Columbia general election took place on May 14, 2013, to elect the 85 members of the 40th Parliament of British Columbia to the Legislative Assembly in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The British Columbia Liberal Party (BC Liberals) formed the government during the 39th Parliament prior to this general election, initially under the leadership of Premier Gordon Campbell then after his resignation, Christy Clark. Dianne Watts
Dianne Lynn Watts (born October 30, 1959) is a former politician in British Columbia, Canada. She won her first federal election campaign in October 2015 to become a federal Member of Parliament for South Surrey—White Rock. In 2017 she resigned as MP to pursue a failed leadership bid for the BC Liberal provincial party. Previously, Watts served as the mayor of Surrey, the second-largest city in the province from 2005 to 2014.
